Acclaimed by critics and audience for temperament and pianistic sensitivity, Armando Sabbarese has been performing intensively since his public debut at the age of five. Over the years he has been the main character of several concert tours held in the United States, particularly in New York, where he performed in the famous Carnegie Hall and in other important concert halls in Virginia and Arkansas. In Korea, he performed concerts in the prestigious L&S Art Hall and the Guri Art Hall in Seoul.
In Italy he was featured in several festivals in important theaters and concert halls in Milan, Rome, Bari, Naples, Padua, and Ragusa; in Europe in Brussels, London, Paris, León and Lugano, as well as in Lviv, Ukraine, where he performed with the KLK Symphony Orchestra.
Overall winner of numerous national and international piano competitions, Armando also received honorable mention for the best performance of Henry Cowell’s “Three Irish Legends” and George Crumb’s “Makrokosmos.” Devoted to contemporary music, the pianist is esteemed for his masterful performances of important composers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen, Galina Ustvolskaya, Olga Neuwirth and Rebecca Saunders. Acclaimed for his versatility, Armando often performs recitals with sophisticated repertoires ranging from romanticism to electronic music.
He is dedicatee of numerous solo piano pieces by leading contemporary Italian and foreign composers with whom he frequently collaborates and performs their unpublished pieces.
